This event marks the final of three public meetings designed to foster collaboration between community stakeholders and District agencies. Your participation is instrumental as we strive to enhance the provision of community-based services for individuals with disabilities in crucial areas such as housing, employment, healthcare, and transportation.
The term "Olmstead" draws its significance from the landmark 1999 U.S. Supreme Court case, Olmstead v. L.C., which underscored the ADA's mandate for government services to be delivered to individuals with disabilities in the most integrated setting suitable for their needs.
