#ADA30 People - Sheila Armstrong, PhD, CPM, Americans with Disabilities, ADA Compliance Specialist

Head shot of Sheila Armstrong, PhD, CPM, Americans with Disabilities, ADA Compliance Specialist

“The ADA means that I have more friends. I was asked why people always speak to me in supermarkets, on public transportation etc. My answer is that I speak to everyone. ADA means that I speak to everyone regardless of their abilities. Inclusion in our technological world has changed communication for everyone. What hasn’t changed are the barriers of acceptance. The barriers of attitudes towards people who may be different is still a work in progress. What hasn’t changed is that I must show you how to treat me, and include me when you include everyone else.”
