Interim Disability Assistance (IDA)
The IDA Program provides temporary financial assistance to those who are unable to work due to a disability, and have a high probability of receiving federal Supplemental Security Income (SSI). IDA payments are issued until SSI eligibility is approved or denied. Please see one of the following local Department of Human Services (DHS) Service Centers:

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) (formerly Food Stamps)
As of October 1, 2008, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is the new name for the federal Food Stamp Program. The Districts’ SNAP program helps low-income residents and families buy the food they need for good health. You can apply for benefits by completing an application form at one of the DHS Service Centers.
