#ADA30 People - Mathew McCollough, Director, DC Office of Disability Rights

Headshot of Mathew McCollough, Director, DC Office of Disability Rights

“The 30th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act is extremely important. This Anniversary of the ADA represents progress in equity, opportunities, and advancement for people with disabilities. As a Filipino American with disabilities, I am proud to see greater representation and presence of actual actors with disabilities in television and movies, medical professionals with disabilities serving in our health care industry, attorneys and teachers with disabilities in our legal and education systems, and more directors and chief executive officers with disabilities leading our agencies and businesses in 2020. As a nation, we still have a lot of work to do in order to recognize and embrace the contributions and talents of all people with disabilities within their communities. Based on the progress made in the last 30 years, I am hopeful that we can continue to make this a true reality.”
